Project Award - Synchronous Condenser Facilities Civil Works

We are pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded a project related to the Lower Churchill Project (LCP) called “Synchronous Condenser Facilities Civil Works”.  This contract involves work at the Soldiers Pond site located @15-20 minutes east of St. John’s. 

The general scope of the project is as follows:

  • Installation of pile and concrete foundations for three (3) Synchronous Condensers
  • Concrete foundations and concrete floor slabs for a 26.0m x 66.15m building
  • Supply and erect building structural steel, roofing, cladding and all associated architectural finishes
  • Supply and install building electrical and mechanical systemsConcrete foundations for various exterior transformer equipment foundations complete with spill       containment facilities
  • Concrete foundations for various exterior ancillary equipment foundations, gantry tower foundations, etc.
  • Installation of an oil/water separator system
  • Installation of a septic system
  • Installation of all building and yard grounding grid
  • Installation of two (2) artesian wells
  • General yard grading, topping and fencing requirements

For the building supply and erect building structural steel, roofing, cladding and all associated architectural finishes as well as the supply and installation of the building electrical and mechanical systems, we have engaged the Bird St. John’s team to lead and manage this scope of work. We are excited to be working together on our first project and are looking forward to the future opportunities this relationship will foster.
